Stay fit and warm this winter

img_4875December is here, which means one thing, time to wrap up warm and stay inside. But this is no excuse for not staying fit. With gyms being indoors and fitness DVDs requiring you to stay inside there are no more reasons to avoid exercising! I’ve created some handy tips to help you stay fit this winter.

  • Pick your workout days and stick to them

If you are incredibly busy then trying to workout everyday maybe impossible, as a result you won’t want to do it. Simply select three or four days a week when you will do a hardcore workout, either in the gym or your living room. If you keep at this schedule you’ll see improvements in no time.

  • Before bed exercises

Instead of sitting on your phone in the evening why not do a quick 5 minute workout? Each day you can focus on a different body part, I would start with legs then work your way up. By varying it you won’t be bored.

  • 80/20 trade off

With the party season nearing sitting to the 80/20 rule is a great way to enjoy yourself and parties without feeling guilty. If I’m going out in the evening I have a healthy breakfast and lunch and drink plenty of water during the day to offset my evening activities.

  • Weight maintenance

Setting yourself a large weight loss goal during this month can be slightly unrealistic, this is only due to the fact that you are going to want to enjoy yourself this time of year. My suggestion? Note down your current weight and stick to it, if you lose its an add bonus.

Enjoy your festive season and keep fit and warm.
