Being naturally slim I was ignorant to the importance of keeping fit until my lifestyle did a 360 and the McDonalds breakfasts and dinners began to catch up with me. Being overweight began to affect my health in a negative manner, I started to experience back pains as my body wasn’t accustom to carrying the extra weight and as a result had to make a decision to rectify that. I rember going on holiday and not wanting to take of my vest on the beach. Anyway I decided to make the change, after a cheeky comment from a 16 year old girl and adopting the title “uncle” from mates a few years younger than me. I began to watch my food intake and exercised regularly, predominately through the January and February snow. After a few months I managed to shift the weight and adopted the healthy lifestyle on a permanent basis. This was achieved irrespective of the fact I was a Young father, working full-time and studying part-time for a masters degree. I took up a new sport in boxing which made loosing 3 stones fun and easy. I believe excuses are for the weak, find your motivation and let the passion behind your motivation outweigh your excuses.
